Well, I was in the process of writing a blog about how some friends have really disappointed me but then Simon called.
We talked for over an hour and he told me about the phone conversation he had with his daughter (who lives with her mother who decided that after their daughters birth it was about the right time to tell Simon that she was a lesbian and that she was leaving him).
She is going to be 5 in February(his daughter of course, although...). He usually tells me what they talked about because "whatsherface" doesn't really want us to call at her house and at least this way we can participate in her life. (My daughters consider her their sister!)
Anyways, Simon had told her that some of the roofing between the his mums house and the shed had been blown of and that he had to fix it as the alleyway was now getting wet. She asked if Granddad was going to get wet, too. Granddad is sitting in a jar on the shelf in the shed (long story) and she knows that. So Simon told her that he was safe and she was OK with that.
They talked on for a bit and at the end of the conversation she asked if Simon and his mum could send her a card as she misses them so much. She also asked if he could put a little bit of granddad in too so she could have him with her as well!!!
I can not write in anger about people in light of such an superb moment in a child's life!
Some people might think this a bit morbid, but hey, they are British!
On this note...
Good night!
PS Simon has already told his mother that he is going to wait until she dies, then take her and granddads ashes and have them pressed into a diamond so they are stuck with each other for eternity!
